A new report from PWInsider.com claims that Jeff Jarrett and his new promotion, Global Force Wrestling, have applied for new trademarks. The terms they want registered are “Global Force Wrestling”, “GFW” and “Global Force Entertainment.”
According to the report, each trademarked term will be used for the company in as many ways possible, especially online and in promotional materials. Jarrett recently announced that he was launching the new promotion following his confirmed departure from TNA Wrestling.
Jarrett is currently spanning the globe in search of talent to fill the Global Force Wrestling roster, and wants to make a serious impact on the wrestling world. GFW will likely be a promotion that airs any content it records via the internet, which would allow for immediate exposure to the talent that Jarrett will want to highlight as the “selling points” for his company.
One name that has been rumored to be heading to GFW if he does not return to WWE in September is Kurt Angle. His current contract with TNA Wrestling will end in the Fall, and although Angle has made it clear that he would like to return to WWE, recent stories have revealed that Vince McMahon may not want the “Wrestling Machine” back in his company. If a WWE deal falls through, the world could very well see Angle move on to Global Force Wrestling.
Editor’s Note:
Looks like Jeff is making moves. I’m ready to see what other kind of programming GFW will be able to provide to wrestling fans world-wide.
