PWInsider.com has recently published a story explaining that financial troubles are the reason behind all of the recent TNA releases. The report states that TNA released the talents it did on July 3rd due to budget cuts within the company.

The majority of talents let go on Wednesday were being paid a guaranteed salary, plus an additional fee when booked for TNA events. The feeling within the company was that the Gut Check talents were not being used regularly, so there was no need to have them under contract anymore.

TNA has been doing a lot of financial cuts of late due to the added expenses of taking Impact on the road. Talents have also been said to have been recently complaining about getting paid late, with one source stating that some talents’ checks are two months behind.
