A fan claims he was threatened by WWE employees during “RAW” on Sept. 1. The number of reports in regards to fans being asked to leave or give up their signs has been increasing as of late, although many of these reports are completely fabricated. The latest one getting passed around the IWC may be just that, a complete fake.
The story comes from a fan that was seen on hard camera pretty much the entire episode. He was the one throwing up a sign that read, “I Could Be At Home Watching Nitro.” Apparently, this was the sign WWE officials were upset about and wanted removed from the man.
Here’s his story, which is NSFW (contains strong language). This is the claim the fan made on Reddit.com.
“So tonight in Des Moines Iowa I was having fun being a fan of the product and holding up 2 different signs. One said I’d rather be at home watching Nitro for $9.99. the other said Raw is RAGElife. Around 9pm a skinny whit male with a black polo shirt with the WWE logo asked me for the sign. I asked which one. He took the Raw is RAGElife and left. A few minutes later he came back and asked for the other signs.
Next to him was a huge black male in a suit with a wwe lapel pin. I tossed the sign reddit wanted me to make. And then was told to leave the arena. I refused and the as threatened with arrest After a few minutes I went with them to the vending area where 5 men I suits surrounded me trying to arrest me for a sign an being someone the WWE didn’t like. I begged them to bring the police so I could he arrested and they wouldn’t bring them.
After 5 maybe 10 minutes of the bullshit I left left to my own will because I was tired of the shit. Fuck WWE Vince McMahon and everyone involved. They also took the person next to me sign that said Cena it’s time for a heel turn. Incredible…”
It should be noted that this fan claims he was removed from his seat and that he tossed his sign. However, the sign was seen all the way up to the main event, as well as the fan in his seat. He can be seen during every match, including the main event, which means he didn’t just “leave on his own,” as reported. The man that held that sign likely didn’t post this report to Reddit.com, as it is likely just another fan trying to cause a stink throughout the online wrestling community, with no purposed but hurt behind it.
Editor’s Note:
I’ve been to live events and seen people’s signs get taken. I have NEVER seen someone get asked to leave unless they’ve caused a fight or continuously made rude gestures (only in this era, rude gestures were expected during the Attitude Era). This story REEKS of bull crap. The guy can be seen the entire night. He doesn’t leave. That’s for sure. Also, WHY WOULD WWE BE UPSET? IT’S FREE PUB FOR NITRO DEBUTING ON THE WWE NETWORK!
