Batista Reveals His Thoughts Regarding His Return and the WWE Universe

In a couple of recent tweets on Twitter, Batista reveals his thoughts regarding his return and the WWE Universe. “The Animal” updated his official Twitter account around 3 a.m. on Tuesday morning, saying that he does not let the negative response he has gotten from the WWE Universe affect him, and that he returned to the company because he wanted to.

Batista has been met by a united chorus of “boos” upon his return to WWE action, however it seems that the current negative reaction to “The Animal” is more of a case of him being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Batista arrived just before the 2014 “Royal Rumble,” and was expected to win the 30-man Battle Royal upon the announcement of his inclusion in the match. The WWE Universe collectively wanted Daniel Bryan to win the Royal Rumble bout, but with Batista’s return, Bryan was excluded from the Rumble match and Batista was awarded a WWE World Heavyweight title shot at WrestleMania XXX on a seemingly silver platter.

WWE fans have been force-fed a returning “part-time” superstar, such as the Rock and now Batista, in WrestleMania main events for three years running. Crazy enough as it sounds, this is not what the WWE Universe wants, as they want the superstars they’ve created, such as CM Punk and Daniel Bryan, to have their WrestleMania moment and be in the main event picture.

Batista is expected to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship if he takes on current champion Randy Orton by himself on April 6, and fans don’t want to see it. The negative response he has received has been due to the fact that Bryan is getting shafted in the fans’ eyes, not because fans didn’t really want to see Batista back.

The latter may be coming true now, because Batista has yet to look great in the ring since his return, but God help the man if it is only him and Orton in the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match at WrestleMania XXX. The New Orleans crowd will [expletive deleted] on the match and likely boo both Orton and Batista out of the arena.
