According to PWInsider.com, there is some backstage concern within TNA about the future of the company and how much longer they can survive. As previously reported, the TNA office presented a “best case scenario” to their locker room before the end of 2014, citing how their new deal with Destination America would work out for them in the long run. However, TNA talent believes things are not looking up, but rather down for the company’s future.
One of the locker room’s biggest concern is the lack of consistent work on the horizon. TNA is still not holding live events outside of TV tapings, and many of their stars are forced to work shows whenever possible outside of the company to compensate for the low level of opportunity to make money wrestling exclusively for TNA.
TNA talent believed that company officials painted a pretty picture of what the future of the company would look like once they signed with network Destination America, but no on believes this is where the company is actually heading. Production crew, creative, and talent all believe that the company is moving in the opposite direction of how the office made it sound like TNA would be going in 2015.
As previously noted, TNA is only running television tapings for their events, and with the company canceling the tapings they were to hold in April, the next set of events the talent can be paid for won’t happen until May. This really has everyone backstage worried because they know that they probably won’t be paid for a couple of months.
The biggest feeling backstage is that major TNA names have left over the last two years, without anything positive really happening in leu of the company loss. Big names like Bully Ray, who recently returned to WWE as a WWE Legend in the 2015 “Royal Rumble,” as well as others like Sting and Hulk Hogan, who have also made their return (and debut) in WWE over the last year.
With the locker room feeling like they’re getting the run around on what the future really holds for TNA Wrestling, they now want Dixie Carter and the office to sit down with them and shoot straight about what’s next, how long they can exist like this, etc.
Editor’s Note:
Does NOT sound like TNA talent is happy with where they are currently, eh?
