On Tuesday, March 10, WWE taped the March 12 edition of “Smackdown” in Detroit, Michigan at Joe Louis Arena. The show kicked off with an announcement from none other than Daniel Bryan. Bryan made no haste in declaring his entry into the multi-man Ladder match for Bad News Barrett’s Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 31.

Through the past couple weeks of WWE programming, Bryan had been prominently featured in the storyline for the prestigious Intercontinental Championship. The storyline has seen Bryan have possession of the title on more than one occasion. In fact, on the March 5 “Smackdown,” Bryan looked to be closing the show with the title in his possession. However, Stardust ambushed Bryan, seizing the title. Coincidentally, before the “Smackdown” taping began on March 10, Stardust was confirmed to be part of the multi-man Ladder match.

With Bryan confirmed for the bout, there are now seven participants for the Ladder match at WrestleMania 31: reigning and defending champion Bad News Barrett, Bryan, Dolph Ziggler, Dean Ambrose, Luke Harper, Stardust, and R-Truth.

Editor’s Note

With the way WWE was incorporating Bryan into this storyline, it was only a matter of time before he declared his entry into the match. Now, it will be interesting to see if Sheamus returns to enter the picture.
