At a live event in Newark, Delaware this evening, Roman Reigns made his return to the company, attacking Seth Rollins as he was cutting a promo. The following is an excerpt from an article on WWE.com, breaking the story:
WWE.com has learned that Roman Reigns made a surprise return to WWE tonight during a Live Event. His actions no doubt serve as a powerful declaration that he plans to reclaim the WWE Title this Sunday at WWE Battleground in the highly-anticipated Triple Threat Match against his ex-Shield cohorts, WWE Champion Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins.
The Big Dog’s reemergence happened just moments after Rollins’ showdown against Ambrose came to a close. The cunning Architect opted to attack The Lunatic Fringe after the bell. But as Rollins picked up the microphone to expound upon his plans to reclaim WWE’s most coveted prize this Sunday, Reigns’ music suddenly blared through the arena.
After clearing the ring of his stunned adversary with an earth-shattering Superman Punch/Spear combination, Reigns picked up the WWE Title. Then, when a rejuvenated Ambrose cautiously joined him in the ring, Reigns tossed the title to him and walked away without a word.
Reigns has been away from the company since he was suspended for violating their wellness policy on June 21. He is scheduled to face his former brothers in The Shield, Ambrose and Rollins, in a triple threat match for the WWE Championship this Sunday at “Battleground.”

No surprises here. We knew that Reigns was scheduled to appear at a live event this weekend, in order to prepare for his return at “Battleground.” I still am very much looking forward to this match, and seeing just what these three amazing athletes can do together, in what should be a great contest.
