Sometimes plans change. It has been previously reported that WWE released several superstars earlier this week, including Xia Li, Jinder Mahal, and Xyon Quinn. However, another superstar seems to be taking his leave from the company.
According to a report from Fightful, NXT superstar Von Wagner was also among those released last week.

According to a report from PWInsider, Wagner had been discussed as a potential call-up from NXT to the main roster in the upcoming WWE Draft.
Wagner, whose real name is Calvin Bloom, is the son of Wayne Bloom, a former member of the popular 1990s tag team The Beverly Brothers. Before joining WWE’s NXT brand, Wagner had a college football career, playing as a Tight End for the University of Central Florida from 2012-16. He was widely regarded as a top prospect and had the backing of key figures within WWE management. However, despite the high expectations, Wagner never seemed to fully capitalize on his potential or gain significant momentum during his time in NXT.
Editor’s Opinion:
This one surprises me as I have read several stories indicating that Wagner was seen as a future world champion by WWE management. Of course, that was under the Vince McMahon era, and I’m sure that Triple H has other ideas of what the future looks like.
