The world needs to get ready for her. Tonight, at the 2018 TLC pay-per-view, Asuka defeated both Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair to become the new Smackdown Live Women’s Champion. This is her first run with the championship, and her first title on the main roster.
All three women engaged in an intense brawl to close out Smackdown Live this past week. You can see a clip of that encounter below:
This match started with a bang right from the beginning. The three combatants went at each other, and used a wide variety of tables, ladders and chairs throughout the match.
The finish came when Lynch and Charlotte were both on the ladder, about to grab the title belt. It was at that moment that Ronda Rousey came out, and pushed them both off of the ladder, as a way to get revenge for them beating her up with a kendo stick about a month ago.
This would allow Asuka to climb the ladder and claim her first championship on the main roster.
Editor’s Opinion:
I am 100% OK with The Man losing her title. Not only is it a great moment for Asuka, but it doesn’t make Lynch or Charlotte look weak in any way. Plus, it opens up the door and give multiple options for how these women will compete at WrestleMania this year. It was a great match by three deserving competitors. Bravo to all and congratulations to Asuka on her first title in WWE!
