It appears that “Iron” Mike Tenay is going to be taking his vocal talents outside of the wrestling world.

Tenay appeared on the Aug. 3 episode of the “Human Machine Podcast With Taz” and announced that beginning this Thursday, Aug. 6, Tenay will be joining the CBS Radio Network, and will be launching his own podcast. “Professor Vegas with Mike Tenay” will give insight into sports betting, and will report on the world of sports from a wagering prospective.  The show will be broadcast from Las Vegas, Nevada, and will feature interviews with sports bookies and odds makers, among others, giving an inside look into the process of creating the point spreads that are used.  Tenay has a unique prospective in this field, as he was a bookie at the Goal Coast Race and Sports Book in Vegas for over a decade.

Mike Tenay had been the voice of TNA since its launch in 2002.  However, when the company moved to the Destination America network earlier this year, Josh Mathews took over the role as lead commentator.  Prior to his work in TNA, Tenay served as a commentator for WCW, and was seen on all of their programs during the Monday Night Wars, including “Monday Nitro”, “Thunder”, and all of their pay-per-view events.

The new podcast will be geared towards gamblers of all kinds, from the casual to the most intense.  Not only will there be tips on who to bet on, but all other aspects of gambling such as when to bet, and how much should be wagered will be discussed.  In addition, they will cover all of the major stories that are currently going on in the world of sports, and how those will effect the bets that could be made.

The “Human Machine Podcast With Taz” is a weekly podcast hosted by former WWE and TNA superstar Tazz, and is broadcast on Play.it, which is a subsidiary of the CBS Radio Network.

Editor’s Note:

I’ve been a fan of “The Professor” Mike Tenay for many years, and truly believe that he is under-appreciated as a brilliant wrestling mind.  Both WCW and TNA would not be what they are today without his vast knowledge of the business, and this abilities as a great play-by-play commentator.  I’m excited to see where his career goes after this.  Best of luck, Mike Tenay!!
