However, a new report from The Miami Herald indicates that the state may not be done hosting the greatest event in sports entertainment. According to the report, Miami has submitted a bid to host WrestleMania in either 2018, 2019, or 2020. The event would be held at the newly renovated stadium of the Miami Dolphins.
This latest bid is a collaborative effort amongst many groups, including the Miami Dolphins, the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Miami Beach Convention Center and the AmericanAirlines Arena/HEAT Group. The partners submitted their bid in February and are waiting to hear back from WWE.
There is speculation that WWE won’t select Miami for WrestleMania 34 in 2018, as they will have just been in Orlando the year before.
It should be noted that Miami was the host of WrestleMania 28 back in 2012. In the main event of the evening, The Rock defeated John Cena in their “Once in a Lifetime” dream match.

Editor’s Note:
From what I understand, Florida always makes a wonderful place to host WrestleMania. The Weather is terrific, there are plenty of wrestling fans there, and it generally makes for a positive environment for all involved. However, I wouldn’t expect WrestleMania to return to Florida until at least 2020.
