Last night on “Monday Night Raw,” General Manager Mick Foley announced that the former host of “The Daily Show,” Jon Stewart, would be appearing at this year’s edition of “SummerSlam.” However, it is unknown, at this time, in what capacity he will be used.
Stewart is no stranger to WWE, and specifically “SummerSlam.” Last year, he was named the special guest host for “The Biggest Party of the Summer,” and, later in the evening, interfered in the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match between John Cena and Seth Rollins. Per the stipulation of the match, Rollins became the first WWE superstar in history to hold both the World Heavyweight Championship and the United States Championship at the same time.
From 1999-2015, Stewart was the host of “The Daily Show” on Comedy Central. The show is a satirical news broadcast, and makes fun of the world of politics and national media.
Editor’s Note:
I’m completely fine with this, because I think that Jon Stewart is hilarious. It’s no secret that he is a big WWE fan, and the company capitalizing on his successful appearance last year is a great idea. It will be great to see him on WWE programming again, as he has natural comedic chemistry with several WWE superstars, namely Seth Rollins.
