He’s not finished yet. Cody Rhodes has been the subject of much controversy over the weekend, as many fans feel that The Rock took his main event spot against Roman Reigns for WrestleMania 40. However, that wasn’t the only problem he had.

At a WWE Live Event over the weekend in Knoxville, Tennessee, Shinsuke Nakamura attacked Rhodes backstage after the main event of the show. In the main event, Rhodes defeated Nakamura in a Street Fight.

You can see the attack below:

The two superstars had a rivalry to close out 2023, which appeared to be settled on the January 8, 2024 episode of Raw. Rhodes defeated Nakamura in another Street Fight on the show.

The American Nightmare was the winner of the 2024 Royal Rumble and appeared to be ready to challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania. However, Rhodes stepped aside this past week on SmackDown and allowed The Rock to return, confronting the champion as the show went off the air.

Editor’s Opinion:

If WWE fans weren’t upset already, they are going to be livid now. Everyone is going to immediately think that they are simply going back to an old feud, but I think this is just a way for the company to have some filler material until they figure out what they are going to do with this situation involving Rhodes, Rock, and Reigns.
