Backup Plan: Here’s What WWE Reportedly Has In Store For Cody Rhodes At WrestleMania 40

Consolation prize? We are about two months away from WrestleMania 40 and that means it is time for WWE to really start setting the card in motion. They have covered more than a few of those matches already, including one of them which seemed to be set up this week on SmackDown. However, the match is not being the most well received and now we know what might be happening with someone no longer involved.

The final segment of this week’s SmackDown saw Cody Rhodes say that he would not be facing Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Title at WrestleMania. Instead the Rock came to the ring and suggested that he would be facing Reigns. According to PWInsider.com, the current plan is for Rhodes to face Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship. The two had a face to face encounter last week on Monday Night Raw.

It could be a heck of a match. Check out what Rhodes has been doing:

Opinion: I’m not sure how well this is going to go but there has to be something to make this come off better for Rhodes. So far, it looks like he gave away what matters the most to him and now he is going to have to explain why he is doing something like this. It’s going to be an interesting talk next week and I’m not sure how well the whole thing is going to be received.
