Big E Talks “Black Excellence” On MLK Day

Today is a special day each year, where we, as a nation, take some time to recognize and observe the achievements of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. King was instrumental in the advancement of civil rights in this country, and his words and teachings have helped to shape our nation into the diverse and accepting culture that it is today.

This morning, WWE superstar Big E spoke about the importance of this on the Arkansas NBC affiliate “KARK 4 News.” He had the following to say regarding the opportunities he has been given as a person of color:

“The fact that we have talented performers of color is something that is very big for us. Obviously, this day means a lot to all of us, not just the in-ring performers, but all people of color who are excelling. That’s something that we all want to embrace and to celebrate.”

Big E would also discussed taking a picture with then WWE “Raw” Women’s Champion, Sasha Banks, along with Cruiserweight Champion Rich Swann, when they were the “Raw” tag team champions. This was the “Black Excellence” tweet that was seen last month:

Big E also promoted promote tonight’s “Monday Night Raw,” which is emulating from Little Rock, Arkansas.
