This sounds absolutely perfect for him. According to a new report from WWE, beginning tonight, Aiden English will be joining the commentary team on 205 Live. The show takes place Tuesday nights after Smackdown Live, on the WWE Network.
English has always been gifted on microphone, serving as a mouthpiece for Rusev and Lana as a part of the Rusev Day team. However, he was in a feud with them on his most recent program on WWE television; you can see a clip of that below:
205 Live General Manager Drake Maverick had the following to say regarding the move:
“The McMahons have been shaking things up on Raw and SmackDown LIVE, so I’m going to follow suit,” Maverick said. “Aiden English is an active Superstar and is very opinionated, and I believe those opinions and perspective will add to the current commentary team, only adding to the entertainment value of The Most Exciting Hour of Television.”
Senior Director of On-Air Talent and Raw commentator Michael Cole also praised the move.
“We wanted to do something special for WrestleMania season, and Royal Rumble week kicks off the Road to WrestleMania,” said Cole. “We’ve been working with Aiden at the WWE Performance Center to see if he has the chops, and it turns out he’s pretty good.”
It should be noted that English will still be wrestling as a member of the Smackdown Live brand.
Editor’s Opinion:
This is a brilliant move and I think that it will be perfect for him. He has always had a wonderful voice and always speaks with passion and heart. Having him on a commentary role could serve as a great way to maximize his talents; I am completely on board for this!
