It appears that one of the oldest and most well-respected wrestlers and commentators in the WWE history has received a new contract. Not only has he received a new contract, but he’s going to be back at the desk for the biggest show of the year.
Jerry “The King” Lawler has found himself yet again with a contract in hand. When talking on his own “Dinner With the King” podcast this week, he discussed the details of his contract. The deal has him booked to be on WWE’s pre-show for Wrestlemania as well as commentating for one match during the show. Whether this will turn into a long-term commentary, or even wrestling, deal remains to be seen.
Lawler has been out of the commentary booth since mid-2016, having been relegated to pre-show analysis then slowly being phased out of that role. He was the de facto color commentator for Raw for years before being moved to Smackdown in 2015.
