WWE “SummerSlam,” which the company hypes yearly as “The Biggest Event of the Summer,” may be getting an extra hour.
Luca Franchini, who does some WWE announcing for Sky Italia in Italy, recently announced on his official Facebook account that World Wrestling Entertainment has informed the network of “SummerSlam” moving to a four-hour show.
WWE has yet to make an official announcement concerning a time change, if it does in fact take place.
The only match confirmed for the card at this time is the main event, with “The Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar facing The Undertaker in a rematch from WrestleMania 30.
Other matches rumored to take place are Seth Rollins defending his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against United States Champion John Cena, Kevin Owens going one-on-one with Cesaro, and Dean Ambrose teaming with Roman Reigns against Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper.
Editor’s Note
A four-hour “SummerSlam” looks awesome on paper, but WWE will need to truly book the card like it’s WrestleMania to make it all come together. Bigger doesn’t necessarily equal better. Everything will ultimately revolve around Lesnar vs. Undertaker regardless, but that doesn’t mean WWE can short-change fans with crappy booking.
