At WrestleMania 31 on March 29 at Levi’s Stadium, Roman Reigns will challenge Brock Lesnar in the main event for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
According to PWInsider.com, with Lesnar announcing on ESPN earlier this week that he’ll be remaining with World Wrestling Entertainment, there’s a strong feeling that he’ll retain the title.
There was reportedly some ongoing talks about changing the finish of the match, but nothing has been confirmed at this point.
Another reason why Lesnar could retain is that there could be more problems with Reigns winning the gold than if he were to lose, especially with fans and how they’d react to it.
WWE could have Reigns lose, but have a valiant enough effort against “The Beast Incarnate” that the WWE Universe respects him for it.
If Reigns wins, he may be put in a situation that he can never recover from, barring some sort of heel turn of course.
Editor’s Note
This is exactly why I picked Lesnar to go over in the WrestlingRumors.net Staff Predictions. There are too many question marks surrounding Reigns at the moment for me to feel confident in a victory and his immediate future. It could be a rough night for him on Sunday.
