WWE legends Rikishi, The Bushwackers, Kevin Nash, “Macho Man” Randy Savage, Tatsumi Fujinami and Larry Zbyszko, as well as Arnold Schwarzenegger, were all inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on March 28.
According to a report by PWInsider.com, WWE officials asked stars to cut their speeches short, including “Nature Boy” Ric Flair’s induction of Fujinami and Shawn Michaels’ induction of Nash.
The company was not happy with how the ceremony played out overall. The show was way too long at almost four hours, and was apparently “not exciting enough.”
The Bushwackers’ speech was said to be the best of the night.
Alundra Blayze’s use of adult language on several occasions during her speech reportedly rubbed officials the wrong way. Her putting over former WCW president Eric Bischoff the way she did was also said to be a knock against her.
Michaels went “off the cuff” with his speech, tearing up what he had written in front of the audience.
Officials were not happy with his use of the words “strap” and “wrestler.”
Editor’s Note
This is insanely dumb. Michaels and Blayze were two of the highlights of a show that certainly dragged on. They’ve earned the right to say whatever they want, within reason of course. Company officials need to lighten up.
