Considering some of the early stage issues the WWE Network has had with streaming live events, there is certainly a cause for concern as WrestleMania 30 approaches on April 6.
World Wrestling Entertainment recently released a statement to Fool.com on how they foresee the stream for the biggest PPV of the year playing out:
Notwithstanding the overwhelmingly positive response to WWE Network, we want to ensure subscribers have the highest-quality experience watching WrestleMania 30 and all our programming, and thus have put in place significant quality assurances. These steps include increased capacity to handle high volumes of transactions, logins, and concurrent live streams, daily ‘stress’ testing of all systems over an extended period, and the addition of technology experts to review our plan and procedures. We’re confident that we’ll be ready on Sunday, April 6.
To sign up for the Network, users have to lock themselves in to a six-month agreement. Even if the stream for WrestleMania 30 experiences issues, there’s nothing fans can do about it until that time comes to an end.
If anything, (potential) problems with the quality of the stream on April 6 could deter future buyers from putting their money down for the Network.
