A potential return to World Wrestling Entertainment for former star Carlito has hit a bit of a standstill.
Court Bauer and Konnan of MLW Radio were first to report that WWE was looking to bring Carlito back to bolster the roster’s hispanic presence, as the company is lacking in Latin stars at the moment.
Apparently, WWE believes that if they raise their offer enough, Carlito will accept and make his return.
Officials want the 36-year-old to be a part of the repackaging of Los Matadores, as Carlito is the brother of Diego and cousin of Fernando.
Carlito was released on May 21, 2010, following a wellness violation. He also refused to enter a rehab facility for an apparent addiction to painkillers.
Editor’s Note
It reeks of desperation when WWE digs into the past to salvage stars, but in this case, it makes total sense. Lucha Dragons are the only steady Latin presence, so if Carlito reuniting with his brother and cousin helps that cause, then the company needs to pull the trigger.
