The Undertaker may have a few more matches left in the tank.
That belief has changed, as many within the company have been talking about Undertaker working past the big event, according to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Undertaker, who last wrestled at “SummerSlam” against Brock Lesnar, will turn 51 years old in March. It’s expected that he’ll compete at least one more time before WrestleMania, which may come as early as the “Hell in a Cell” pay-per-view in a final confrontation with “The Beast Incarnate.”
In a recent blog entry, WWE Hall of Fame play-by-play man Jim Ross noted how he didn’t think the AT&T Center would be the location of Undertaker’s last in-ring bout.
“From what I can determine, Wrestlemania Texas will NOT be the Undertaker’s final match but the jury is still out on whether it will be Sting’s last one,” Ross wrote. “No, I don’t see them having a match vs each other there either. Plus, I don’t see how WWE gets all the way to April for the Taker vs. Lesnar ‘rubber match’ if that’s in the cards.”
Editor’s Note
WrestleMania 32 seemed like the perfect spot for ‘Taker’s last ride (no pun intended). The biggest WWE indoor show in history….. it works.
