As we reported yesterday at WrestlingRumors.net, the current subscriber totals for the WWE Network have now been unveiled to the public, with 667,284 WWE fans signed up.
Management is hoping that number exceeds the 1 million mark by the end of 2014.
According to a report by F4WOnline.com, if the WWE were to reach that milestone, we could very well see a price increase come along with it.
As of this writing, the WWE Network costs $9.99 a month with a six-month commitment to anyone residing in the United States. You get every single live pay-per-view, including every WWE, WCW and ECW event from years past. You also get a ton of exclusive content you won’t see anywhere else.
There are internal discussions ongoing of possibly moving that price up from anywhere to $11.99 to $12.99 a month.
Editor’s Note
$9.99 seems awfully reasonable. It’s only a few more dollars a month than what you’d be paying for a Netflix account. I would assume that when the WWE Network reaches the United Kingdom, Canada and other areas of the world that have yet to experience it, they’ll be forced into paying more than those who are already indulging in its content. If those who are already subscribed reach their six-month limit are told they have to pay more afterwards, that may turn into a big red flag.
