Nikki Bella to Work as Babyface at WWE "Extreme Rules"

WWE “Extreme Rules” takes place on April 26 at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois.

Scheduled for the event is a WWE Divas Championship title defense when Nikki Bella puts her gold on the line against the No. 1 contender, Paige.

Unfortunately, with Paige currently written off of television after an attack by Naomi during the April 13 edition of “Monday Night Raw,” that match will likely change.

Paige is set to star in an upcoming WWE Studios’ film entitled “Santa’s Little Helper” with The Miz, with filming taking place this month.

Because of this, it’s expected that Naomi will step in and challenge Nikki Bella at the pay-per-view, although that’s not yet confirmed at this time.

With Naomi’s character going through a heel turn, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Nikki will be working as the babyface for their match.

WWE tested that during the recent tour of the United Kingdom when the Bella Twins worked as faces in Bournemouth, England.

Nikki Bella as a babyface? It seems out of place, but with Naomi needing the heel heat, it makes perfect sense. It’s unfortunate that Paige (likely) won’t be involved, but it is what it is. This is Naomi’s time to shine. Can’t drop the ball now.
