It was back in 2008 when former announcer and commentator Jonathan “The Coach” Coachman left World Wrestling Entertainment to work for ESPN and become the host of “SportsCenter.”

The network has made it more of a priority to cover wrestling news this past year, with ESPN acknowledging Sting’s debut with the company, and UFC Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey’s appearance at WrestleMania 31, for example.

Coachman recently teased on his Twitter account that he’ll be in Brooklyn for “SummerSlam” on Aug. 23, and that it could be for a special edition of “SportsCenter:”

Don’t hold your breath if you’re expecting Coachman to step between the ropes and compete in a match again, though. Those days are over.
