If you’re tuning in to the April 20 edition of “Monday Night Raw” expecting to see WWE Intercontinental Champion Daniel Bryan, don’t hold your breath.
According to a report by PWInsider.com, Bryan was not seen around the Times Union Center in Albany this afternoon and is not expected to appear during this weeks television tapings.
Bryan’s health is a major concern within the company these days. He was pulled from WWE’s recent tour of the United Kingdom as a precautionary measure.
It was originally reported that he had suffered a concussion during a “Smackdown” bout with Sheamus, but those reports were eventually confirmed to be false.
Bryan’s action has been kept relatively light in recent weeks, sticking with tag team bouts instead of one-on-one encounters.
He’s still slated to defend his WWE Intercontinental Championship against Bad News Barrett at WWE “Extreme Rules” on April 26 at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois.
With all of the question marks concerning Bryan’s availability and his overall health, perhaps his title reign will be short-lived.
Editor’s Note
I feel absolutely terrible for Bryan. For someone as competitive and passionate about wrestling as he is, I can only imagine how frustrating it must be at this time. It’s hard to not look back and question WWE’s decision of bringing him back prior to WrestleMania 31.
