The two leaders of their respective “YES!!!” movements recently met as WWE superstar Daniel Bryan and San Francisco Giants outfielder Hunter Pence finally crossed paths, per MercuryNews.com:
“No way, dude!” Hunter Pence said as he met Daniel Bryan for the first time. “I can’t believe you came out.”
“This is awesome!” Bryan said, shaking Pence’s hand.
The two are connected through a celebration that Bryan made famous in the WWE world and Pence has taken to the Giants dugout. Bryan said he created the “Yes! Yes! Yes!” celebration after getting a “cheap win” during a WWE match, and he uses it as a way to excite fans. Pence saw it during the Rose Bowl this January and discussed it with teammate Tyler Colvin, a big wrestling fan. Colvin promised the Giants would do it if he hit a homer, and he did it with Pence and Michael Morse after an early-season bomb.
“We were worried,” Pence said. “We didn’t know if you would love it or hate it.”
Bryan said he loves it. He was made aware of the celebration shortly after the Giants started doing it.
“It’s crazy. I’m just some small-town guy from Aberdeen, Washington just doing my wrestling thing,” he said, laughing. “You see it being done by 40,000 people and you’re like, ‘Oh my gosh!’ It was awesome.”
This is absolutely incredible. ONLY @hunterpence: http://t.co/ELUneD16i8 http://t.co/4ztIGBQQrx
