The following are spoilers for the Sept. 24 edition of WWE “Smackdown,” which was filmed Tuesday night:
- “Smackdown” opens with Director of Operations Kane cutting a promo on how he’s glad to be back at his job. He announces that Kevin Owens and Rusev will battle Dolph Ziggler and Ryback later in the evening, while Roman Reigns will take on Luke Harper with Dean Ambrose and The Wyatt Family banned from ringside. WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins interrupts, mentioning how Kane is lying and that everyone knows he’s the demon now. Kane mentions his past anger management training, inviting Rollins to the ring, which he eventually refuses to do. “The Big Red Machine” then books Rollins vs. Ambrose for the main event.
- Roman Reigns def. Luke Harper with a Superman Punch and Spear.
- The New Day def. Neville and The Lucha Dragons with Xavier Woods picking up the win. Prior to the six-man bout, the Tag Team Champions said they’ll end the Dudley Boyz for good at the WWE Network-exclusive MSG show in October.
- Cesaro def. Bo Dallas after Dallas cut a promo on how he had survived “Suplex City” before showing footage of “The Swiss Superman” losing to Big Show.
- Charlotte and Becky Lynch are in the ring for a promo, with the Divas Champion thanking everyone for believing in the Revolution. Paige intervenes, saying she’s the one behind the Divas Revolution and only her. The three are then joined by Natalya, who questions Paige as the division as a whole has never been stronger. Paige says the Revolution has passed Natalya by, and that this is her attempt to stay relevant. Paige slaps Natalya and walks away.
- Ryback and Dolph Ziggler def. Kevin Owens and Rusev after Owens abandoned his partner, leaving “The Bulgarian Brute” vulnerable to a Superkick and Shellshock.
- Dean Ambrose def. Seth Rollins in a non-title match after flames shooting up from the corners of the ring distracted the champ. Rollins, upset with the situation, said he will make Kane miserable if he continues to play with his head. Flames shot up again, causing Rollins to run away. “Smackdown” ends with Kane laughing on the titantron.
