In a recent interview with Chuck Carroll of 106.7 The Fan in Washington, Cesaro discussed a number of WWE-related topics.
When asked about Daniel Bryan being stripped of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, the Swiss-born wrestler showed little remorse:
One person’s bad luck is another person’s opportunity…. Daniel Bryan has always been a fierce competitor of mine. With him not in the picture, it makes it maybe a little bit easier for me to get those titles. And I’m all in favor of that.
I work hard as well and nobody feels sorry for me and I don’t want anybody to feel sorry for me. Bad things happen. Did it happen at a bad time? Yes, it did. But if you look back at other people, they have bad injuries. I know that Daniel Bryan will recover from it and I more than gladly will give him a shot at my title.
Bryan was forced to relinquish his belts after being told by doctors that he would be unable to compete for the foreseeable future after undergoing neck surgery.
Cesaro will now challenge for the vacant gold at “WWE Money in the Bank” on June 29 at the TD Garden in Boston. He will be joined by Bray Wyatt, Sheamus, Alberto Del Rio, Randy Orton, Roman Reigns and John Cena as both belts hang above the ring in a Ladder match.

Editor’s Note
On a humanistic level, I’m sure Cesaro feels awful for what’s happened to Bryan. At the same time, this now allows him to quickly move up the ranks and potentially become WWE World Heavyweight Championship himself this Sunday.
