After losing two-straight falls to Dolph Ziggler in his Intercontinental Championship match at WWE “Hell in a Cell” on Oct. 26, rumors began to stir over the possibility of Cesaro being in the doghouse with the company.
In an interview conducted days prior to the pay-per-view, the “Swiss Superman” expressed his opinion on the John Cena vs. Randy Orton rivalry and why he’d rather not see those two lock horns again:
It’s a new era of guys. It’s a new generation, and it’s a lot of fun to watch that because there are fresh matchups. I mean, I’m sick of seeing John Cena vs. Randy Orton for the 500th time. It’s great that we have some new, young guys that can come out and provide absolutely great matchups that are fresh, exciting matches and things to watch.
Those comments were believed to be the reason why Cesaro is being booked so poorly on WWE programming as of late.
Per WrestlingInc.com, a WWE source says that the aforementioned comments have nothing to do with Cesaro’s losing streak.
His comments did not get him any backstage heat. It’s also being said that they were being taken completely out of context.
Editor’s Note
If those comments aren’t affecting Cesaro’s standing in WWE, then why the heck do they continue to halt his momentum and “hold him back” from being a top player?
