According to a report by PWInsider.com, WWE is expected to announce Alundra Blayze as one of the inductees into the 2015 WWE Hall of Fame class.
Blaze [real name: Debrah Miceli] was WWE’s first Women’s Champion when the belt was reinstated in 1993. She held the gold for 342 days before losing the title to Bull Nakano.
She held the belt on three different occasions for a combined 539 days, which is third-most in WWE history behind The Fabulous Moolah and Trish Stratus.
Perhaps her most infamous moment came during an episode of WCW “Monday Nitro” in 1995 when jumped ship to the company by dropping the Women’s Championship in the trash on live television.
Blaze would join “Macho Man” Randy Savage, Rikishi, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Kevin Nash (not confirmed), The Bushwackers (not confirmed) and Ray Stevens (not confirmed) for the final Hall of Fame class.
Editor’s Note
I’m not entirely sure what kind of relationship WWE has had with Miceli since she left the company. She undoubtedly deserves the induction as she is one of the most important women wrestlers of all-time.
