NXT to show he can match with the future of WWE.
Rhyno started his career wrestling for small companies in Canada, where he became good friends with future ring stars Christian and WWE Hall of Famer Edge, but he first rose to national success in the original incarnation of Extreme Championship Wrestling(ECW).
Debuting in ECW during the middle of m1999, this powerhouse took the renegade company by storm as he destroyed Extreme icons by the likes of Raven, Tommy Dreamer and The Sandman. Soon, even the highly passionate hardcore fan base began to take notice of the devastating and spine-shattering “Gore!”
Rhyno didn’t just defeat opponents. He ended them–barreling through his rivals like a monstrous train ahead. As strong as a monster truck, The Man Beast from Detroit has had more than a few crash tests in the ring.
Now, Rhyno is in WWE
At CyberSlam 2000, he defeated Yoshihiro Tajiri for the ECW Television Championship. Over the ensuing months, Rhyno put his title on the line against all-comers including Jerry Lynn, Raven, Mikey Whipwreck, New Jack, Spike Dudley and even Rob Van Dam–who had vacated the title after a 23-month reign–but all were unable to conquer The Man Beast.
Following the end of ECW, Rhyno would quickly jump ship to the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). He would be listed as #10 on the PWI 500 in the year 2001.
Rhyno would stay in WWE until 2005. He would then quickly move to Total Nonstop Action (TNA). This is where Rhyno would spend the next five years, having notable feuds with stars such as Kurt Angle.
Also, he would compete in other promotions, including Ring of Honor (ROH). Rhyno performed in the independent circuit, too.
No matter which ring he steps into, Rhyno always leaves a mark on his opponents.
