Last night, on Feb. 27, “NXT Arrival” was the first in-ring live broadcast on WWE Network. During the event, Adrian Neville defeat NXT Champion Bo Dallas in a ladder match to become new NXT Champion. Additionally, Cesaro defeated Sami Zayn in a tremendous bout, and NXT Women’s Champion Paige successfully defended her title against Emma.
However, during the match between Tyler Breeze and Xavier Woods, which Alexander Rusev would interfere in, causing the match to not be started, the WWE Network had technical difficulties. While Woods and Breeze were making their entrances, the stream cut out for many, causing them to miss part of the event.
Following the event, WWE Network issued a service advisory regarding the matter, which reads as follows:
“During tonight’s live NXT ArRIVAL special, we unfortunately experienced technical difficulties, which are to be expected when launching a new digital network. We will work aggressively to solve these glitches and deliver quality service. The complete event will be available on-demand overnight.”
In addition to showcasing NXT, perhaps “NXT Arrival” also served as a test-run for WWE in terms of live streaming an in-ring product, before it airs WrestleMania XXX live on April 6. At that time, WWE Network will want to work out all its kinks for those viewing the pay-per-view via the network.
