As we previously reported, on the Nov. 3 edition of “Monday Night Raw,” Zack Ryder suffered a torn rotator cuff at the hands of Rusev. The injury prevented Ryder from appearing throughout WWE’s final tour of Europe in 2014. His absence from the tour led to speculation that he and WWE parted ways, but that would not be the case.
Ryder, himself, has updated his injury status by publishing a documentary-style video on YouTube. Ryder had filmed himself on a number of days, talking about what is to come in regards to his recovery. Early on in the video, Zack Ryder revealed that he has delayed surgery for his tear, wanting to not have it all together. To try to achieve this, Ryder had a stem cell procedure, in which bone marrow from his hip was injected into his shoulder. Following the procedure, Ryder will have to rest for three weeks. After the three weeks are up, he will begin rehabbing. Rehabilitation will last three-to-five weeks, and will let Ryder know if he does indeed need surgery.
Despite the injury, Ryder was still his usual self, cracking jokes about his WWE career and character. In a section filmed on Nov. 11, Ryder addressed John Cena bringing up his name on the previous day’s showing of “Monday Night Raw.”

Editor’s Note
Hopefully the stem cell injection worked, and Ryder will not need surgery.
