On the “season premiere” of “Monday Night Raw” on Sept. 8, four NXT stars competed in a match for some cross-promotion. NXT Champion Adrian Neville and Sami Zayn defeated Tyler Breeze and Tyson Kidd in a tag-team match. Three days later, at “NXT Takeover: Fatal 4Way,” the four duked it out for Neville’s title. However, with the odds stacked against him, Neville would retain his title.
It appears that what transpired on the Sept. 8 showing of “Monday Night Raw” was not a one-time occurrence. A recent report from PWInsider claims that Neville, Zayn, and Breeze are all booked for next week’s tapings of WWE programming, specifically “Monday Night Raw” and “Smackdown.”
On Monday, Sept. 15, “Raw” emanates from Lafayette, Louisiana at the Cajundome. The following night, “Smackdown” will be taped in Biloxi, Mississippi at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.
In a recent Twitter Q&A for “NXT Takeover: Fatal 4Way,” Triple H was asked about the possibility of seeing more NXT action across “Raw,” “Smackdown,” and “Main Event. Triple H would simply say, “possibly.” If the report from PWInsider is indeed true, expect to see lots of NXT on main WWE programming down the road.
Editor’s NOte
With “Raw” being three hours, it’s a no-brainer to have a little bit of NXT on the show. If these three do appear on WWE programming, I wonder if it will lead to them having a role at “Night of Champions.” Next week’s “Raw” will be the “go-home” show to the pay-per-view.
