As we previously reported, WWE has a preliminary list for the 2015 WWE Hall of Fame class. Inductees would include, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, “Macho Man” Randy Savage, Kevin Nash, Rikishi, either Mickie James or Victoria, and a celebrity. However, this already star-studded list may be adding yet another legend, according to a recent report by PWInsider.
The website is reporting that there have been discussions within WWE of inducting WCW legend Sting into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2015.
Each year, the WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony takes place near the location of WrestleMania, which in 2015, will be Santa Clara, Calif. Part of WWE’s reasoning for inducting Sting is because of the location of WrestleMania 31. Because Sting is typically billed from Venice Beach, Calif., WWE feels it would be smart to induct Sting in the state of California.
Despite being discussed as part of the 2015 WWE Hall of Fame class, Sting has not signed with WWE, as of this writing. However, the company is still planning on releasing a DVD for the six-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion. Additionally, 2K Sports is looking at making Sting the pre-order bonus for the upcoming “WWE 2K15” video game.
Editor’s Note
Could you imagine if Sting is indeed part of the 2015 WWE Hall of Fame class? The three headliners would be The Rock, Savage, and Sting. That would make for one of the best WWE Hall of Fame classes in quite some time.
