Daniel Bryan was stripped of his WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the most recent edition of “Monday Night Raw.” Because of his forfeiture of the title, at “Money in the Bank,” seven men will duke it out in the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Ladder match. Four of the seven participants have been confirmed: Cesaro, Sheamus, Alberto Del Rio, and Randy Orton. Additionally, one more man will be confirmed as a participant on this week’s edition of “Smackdown” (contains spoilers.)
Since the announcement of the match, there has been speculation from fans that a “swerve” would be in store for the finish of the match. These fans believed that the match could end with two of the participants each grabbing one of the two title belts hanging above the ring. This would lead to the WWE and World Heavyweight Championships being separate again.
However, according to a recent report by F4WOnline, this type of finish is not planned by WWE. In fact, there have not even been discussions on such a finish.
The WWE World Heavyweight Championship has existed within WWE since December 15, 2013, the date of the TLC pay-per-view. At the event, then WWE Champion Randy Orton defeated then World Heavyweight Champion John Cena in a unification match.
Editor’s Note
I know some thought this was a real possibility for WWE, but I do not see WWE splitting the WWE and World Heavyweight Championships for quite some time.
