As noted on Aug. 5, Paul Heyman was a recent guest on Ariel Helwani’s The MMA Hour. Heyman discussed CM Punk’s WWE status, and how Punk’s goal in life is to never lace up his wrestling boots. Heyman was also questioned about the story behind the confrontation between Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker at UFC 121, but would not reveal what he knows.
However, Heyman did reveal interesting information on Brock Lesnar’s diverticulitis, the disease which halted his career in UFC. Heyman noted that Lesnar has been given a clean bill of health by doctors, and would “consider” a UFC return given the right circumstances.
Below are Heyman’s words:
“He had a clean bill of health, finally. Brock was not ready for the Overeem fight, and I think that’s fairly obvious. A liver kick, well placed, will drop any human being on the face of this planet. A liver kick from Alistair Overeem, at that size and weight, no matter how he achieved it, is going to drop any human being. Brock was unhealthy walking into that fight with Alistair Overeem. I don’t think that Brock has ever truly understood nor accepted, until he got past it, the severity of the illness that took him down. Brock, once he got past the Overeem fight, had all these treatments, switched treatments, and doctors and finally got a clean bill of health.”
The one behind the one responsible for the “1′ in 21-1 noted that given Lesnar’s current position in WWE, a return to the “Octagon” is not likely for the time being:
“If a change of circumstance happens, and it’s a no-brainer to get Brock back into the cage, I’m sure it’s something he would consider. At this moment, it’s not a topic of conversation because things are going so well in WWE.”

Editor’s Note
Very interesting news. Upon the expiration of his WWE contract, you have to wonder if Lesnar would make the jump to UFC once again. Keep in mind, Lesnar is now 37, so time may be ticking.
