The second edition of “Monday Night Raw” coinciding with the build to the 2014 “Hell in a Cell” pay-per-view occurred on Sept. 29. Following a lackluster “Raw” in terms of viewership last week, WWE was able to rebound with its viewership this time around. According to TVByTheNumbers.com, the Sept. 29 showing of “Raw” averaged 4.04 million viewers, up about four percent from last week’s viewership of 3.879 million.
Below are the hourly breakdowns for the Sept. 29 episode of “Monday Night Raw:”
Hour 1: 4.015 million viewers
Hour 2: 4.222 million viewers
Hour 3: 3.882 million viewers
Despite the increase in average viewership, the third hour tanked with an almost eight percent decrease from the second hour. The third hour faltering is all too familiar for WWE, as it hit an even lower number for the Sept. 15 showing of “Raw.”
The hourly breakdowns echo the general feeling from fans in regards to this week’s “Raw.” The show started out strong, peaking around the halfway mark (9:30 p.m. EST) with Dean Ambrose giving Seth Rollins his Money in the Bank Briefcase back, embarrassing him in the process. From then on, until the main event, the show started to drag.
Editor’s Note
I’m not surprised to see that the third hour tanked. The main event wasn’t too noteworthy, and the show hit a big-time lull around 9:30.
