Brock Lesnar, the proclaimed “Beast Incarnate,” ended The Undertaker’s historic WrestleMania streak this year at the 30th annual edition of the “Show of Shows.” Lesnar’s victory instantly made him the top-heel in WWE, yet he has only appeared on WWE programming once since then. It appears that 2014 will be different for Lesnar, who wrestled at both the 2012 and 2013 editions of “Extreme Rules.”
In the most recent issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it is reported that Brock Lesnar has not been booked for the “Extreme Rules” event. In fact, it is noted that he will likely not appear until the build to “WWE SummerSlam.” There, it is speculated that Lesnar will challenge current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan for his title.
However, as we previously reported, there has also been speculation that Cesaro will face Lesnar sometime down the road. Nonetheless, whoever defeats Lesnar for the first time following his destruction of “The Streak,” will certainly be destined for stardom in WWE. The same can be said for any WWE Superstar that can defeat Lesnar at WrestleMania 31, an event Lesnar will presumably work.
Editor’s Note
While I do believe it was a mistake on WWE’s part to not book Lesnar for “Extreme Rules,” there’s no denying that if any WWE Superstar can beat him at “SummerSlam” and/or WrestleMania 31, that person will be destined for a big-time push in WWE.
