One-half of the current WWE Tag Team Champions, Jimmy Uso, recently spoke with Chuck Carroll of 106.7 The Fan in Washington, DC. Uso met with Carroll to promote the upcoming “Money in the Bank” pay-per-view, in addition to the June 23 edition of “Monday Night Raw,” which occurred in Washington, DC. The two discussed many topics such as Jimmy’s father, Rikishi, a possible singles career, and his role on “Total Divas.”
Jimmy Uso talked about a memorable moment of the second season of “Total Divas” for him and his wife Trinity, better known as Naomi in WWE. The moment saw Jimmy and Trinity break protocol on a WWE luxury bus, as they had “marital relations:”
“I honestly, I couldn’t hold out any longer. They caught us flat out.”
“Somebody sent me a picture of the way I was looking, it was hilarious. Ya know, I’m on the road 24-7, so I can’t even see my wife half the time so I had to go there… I told my mom not to watch!”
Throughout his career in WWE, Jimmy Uso has primarily been a tag team competitor, teaming with his twin brother Jay. Carroll asked Jimmy about the possibility of pursuing a singles career in the future:
“Definitely, I would love to try and see where I stand in the singles competition as long as my brother does well, too. One goal that I have is to headline WrestleMania against my twin brother. It’d be awesome in a tables, ladders and chairs match. Because when we grew up we saw Jeff Hardy, the Dudley Boyz, Edge and Christian have a (TLC) match. I thought it was the best match… That’s what really hooked us.”
Jimmy and Jey Uso will defend their WWE Tag Team Championship at “Money in the Bank” against Erick Rowan and Luke Harper of The Wyatt Family.
Be sure to read or listen to the full interview. Jimmy Uso also talks about the impact Rikishi and the late Umaga had on his career.
Editor’s Note
Solid interview. Down the road, I wouldn’t be opposed to a Jimmy vs. Jey match at WrestleMania.
