After a lengthy absence, David Otunga returned to WWE programming on the grandest stage of them all at WrestleMania XXX. He competed in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, but came up short in the match won by Cesaro. Afterwards, Otunga has not been featured on television, but still has contractual ties to the company.
While not much is known regarding his role, Otunga must still work full-time for the company, as last week, Star Magazine published a piece on Otunga’s fiancee, Jennifer Hudson, and her feelings towards her husband’s profession. The article noted that Hudson is upset with Otunga’s decision to return to WWE full-time. Instead, she wanted him to become a television legal analyst, and not have him absent from home for long periods of time.
Below is an excerpt from the article, looking at Hudson’s thoughts, as told by a friend of hers:
“Jen knows that it is his passion, but she doesn’t want him away from home for long periods of time, and there’s always a chance he could get hurt. Jen keeps trying to steer him away from what he really wants to do…[But] he feels that since she’s living her dream, he should be able to live his.”
Editor’s Note
Meh, not too interested in David Otunga being in the doghouse. It’s still strange to me that the two have not married, despite the engagement being made years ago.
