On Feb. 23, WWE aired the first edition of “Monday Night Raw” following the inaugural “Fastlane” pay-per-view. The event marked “The Viper” Randy Orton’s return to WWE’s flagship program, seeing him open and close the show. In the main event of the night, Orton tagged with Seth Rollins, in a losing effort against the team of Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns.
According to a report from TVByTheNumbers.com, the Feb. 23 showing of “Monday Night Raw” averaged 4.122 million viewers. The figure is up about three percent from last week’s viewership mark of 3.997 million viewers. Additionally, it is the first time in more than three weeks since WWE drew in more than four million viewers for “Monday Night Raw.”
In another positive sign for WWE, viewership increased throughout the entire night. Below is the hourly viewership breakdown for the Feb. 23 episode of “Monday Night Raw:”
Hour 1: 4.082 million viewers
Hour 2: 4.109 million viewers
Hour 3: 4.176 million viewers
For the night, “Monday Night Raw” was both the most-viewed and highest-rated cable program. It edged AMC’s “Breaking Bad” spinoff “Better Call Saul” by receiving a 1.5 rating for adults aged 18-49. On the other hand, “Better Call Saul” scored a 1.4 for the demographic.
