At WrestleMania 31, on Sunday, March 29, former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan will be looking to replicate his historic performance at WrestleMania XXX. This time around, Bryan is vying to win his first Intercontinental Championship in his WWE career. Bryan has been favored to win a seven-man Intercontinental Championship Ladder match for Bad News Barrett’s gold. A recent report from PWInsider has provided some backstage details regarding WWE’s current view of Bryan, and why he is not in the main event at WrestleMania.
According to the website, WWE still contains a great deal of concern over Daniel Bryan’s current health status. A fear exists within WWE that Bryan chose a unique form of rehabilitation for his neck injury, one which was designed to get Bryan back in the ring as soon as possible. Due to this form of rehab, WWE is concerned that Bryan will only be healthy for the short-term, potentially having recurring neck issues.
Additionally, it is said within WWE that Daniel Bryan is still viewed as one of its top stars. Instead of WWE possibly having a devalued opinion of Bryan, its fear over his health is the main reason behind him not having a bigger role at WrestleMania 31.
Editor’s Note
If WWE is really concerned about Bryan’s health, I’m not sure putting him in a multi-man Ladder match is a bright move.
