WWE Superstar and former WWE Tag Team Champion Damien Mizdow was recently interviewed by News-Press.com as part of WWE coming to Estero, Florida for a house show. The website caught up with Mizdow about his newfound popularity, his working relationship with The Miz, and much more.
The man once known as Damien Sandow discussed his surge in fan popularity through the past two years, and how he used to get a lot of negative fan response working as a heel:
“You know, it’s funny, because for two years they were just booing me. It’s definitely a different can of worms, so to speak.”
“I love it. It’s great to put smiles on people’s faces. It’s what we do in the WWE. I’m digging it. I really, really like it.”
“As long as I’m getting a reaction, then you make a connection. And that’s one of those things that — no matter what I was doing — I’m very proud that I always had. And that’s the connection with the fans.”
Mizdow, who was recently demoted to Miz’s “personal assistant,” hit on his working relationship with Miz since their tag team formed:
“Miz is the prototype for a professional, in my opinion. I really cannot say enough good things about him.”
“I’ve known Miz for years, but to be able to work with him in this capacity is awesome…. The chemistry we have is great. And we’re both enjoying it.”
“Oh yeah! Absolutely! It’s the typical road: Go to the gym, go eat, the whole deal.”

Editor’s Note
It would be nice to see Damien Mizdow and The Miz get more of a spotlight, heading into WrestleMania 31. I’m surprised the two are still together. Perhaps the split occurs at the biggest WWE event of the year.
