On Wednesday, Feb. 11, WWE aired its latest NXT live special event on the WWE Network. Titled “NXT TakeOver: Rival,” the event would see two championships in NXT change hands. First, Sasha Banks defeated Bayley, Becky Lynch, and NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte to become the new NXT Women’s Champion. In the main event of the night, Kevin Owens defeated Sami Zayn to claim the NXT Championship.
With Charlotte dropping her title, there has been some speculation from WWE fans about the daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair joining the main WWE roster. According to a report from Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Charlotte is expected to work full-time on WWE’s biggest stage in the near future.
The report from Meltzer noted that a lot of people within WWE are very high on Charlotte, and what she can bring to the Divas division. On the other hand, she is said to have her detractors as well. Some people within the company don’t think Charlotte has the “supermodel” look to succeed as a WWE Diva.
Still, Charlotte is expected to join the main WWE roster soon. She wrestled Natalya on the Dec. 8 showing of “Monday Night Raw,” her only appearance on the main WWE roster to date.
Editor’s Note
I really think Charlotte can provide a huge boost to the Divas division. It’s a shame some within WWE aren’t high on her due to her look, but hopefully she’ll prove them wrong.
