On Wednesday, May 20, reports surfaced that Destination America was set to drop TNA’s “Impact Wrestling” in September of 2015. The original report was made by Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter. His report noted that the decision was made by Destination America prior to its decision to move “Impact Wrestling” to Wednesday nights.
However, since the reports surfaced, a number of TNA executives have denied such a cancellation. TNA, itself, issued a statement, calling the reports “false statements.” Additionally, TNA producer Bob Ryder took to social media to falsify rumors and speculation of the company going out of business. Though, at this time, Destination America has made no comment about the reports.
In addition to Bob Ryder and the company as a whole, newly appointed TNA Senior Producer Billy Corgan has commented on rumors of the “Impact Wrestling” cancellation. In response to a tweet from former ECW talent Lou D’Angeli, the Smashing Pumpkins frontman noted the report from Meltzer doesn’t tell the “whole truth.”
Corgan tweeted:

Continuing, Corgan noted that there have been times in the past in which Meltzer has ran with something that may not be entirely true:

Editor’s Note
Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if there is indeed some stuff that Meltzer didn’t report.
