As we previously reported, Big Show is set to star in an upcoming WWE Studios film titled “Vendetta.” The film will be a joint effort between WWE Studios and Lionsgate. Jen and Sylvia Soska, filmmaking twin sisters, will direct the movie. Those two were also directors for “See No Evil 2,” which starred Kane (Glenn Jacobs.)
In a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it is noted that Big Show will be off of WWE programming during the making of the movie. Filming for “Vendetta” began in the middle of June. Because of Show’s role in the movie, WWE did not utilize Show much on television during May and early June.
Big Show’s last appearance on WWE programming was the June 6 edition of “Smackdown.” On the show, Show took on Randy Orton in a singles match. Though, in reality, Show also faced Seth Rollins and Triple H, who alongside Orton, beat down the behemoth, standing tall over “The Giant.”
Big Show, real name Paul Wight, has also starred in films such as “The Waterboy,” “MacGruber,” “Kuncklehead,” and “Jingle All the Way.”
Editor’s Note
This explains Big Show’s somewhat noticeable absence on WWE programming. I’m sure once filming wraps up, WWE will find something for Show to do in order to promote “Vendetta.”
