On the Oct. 13 showing of “Monday Night Raw,” two behemoths clashed in singles action: Rusev and Big Show. Rusev would end up getting the victory against Show, but not in the way the towering Russian would have liked. Thanks to interference from Mark Henry, who attacked Rusev, a former foe, Rusev won via disqualification.
Following the match, Show and Henry collaborated to inflict even more punishment on Rusev. While it looked like WWE was possibly looking to go in the direction of having a two-on-one handicap match or even a Triple Threat match at “Hell in a Cell” to settle the score between the patriots, that will not be the case.
According to a report on WWE.com, Rusev and Big Show will get to have a rematch at “Hell in a Cell.” It is not confirmed if Henry will be in the corner of Big Show, but that will likely be the case. As always, Lana will accompany Rusev, who has not lost a pay-per-view event by pinfall or submission, to battle.
Rusev and Big Show have continued to clash on WWE programming, following Rusev continually besting Mark Henry. Show stepped in for his fallen friend, and at one point took down the Russian flag. Even though Show was on top of the world and looking more and more like a formidable challenger to Rusev, WWE had to apologize for his actions.
Editor’s Note
Rusev should definitely get the win here. It also wouldn’t be too surprising if Henry turns on Show, costing him the match. Either way, Rusev should move on to another opponent after this, possibly Sheamus.
